Universal Prayer

Sandhya Maarga Prayer
"Aham Brahmasmi (I AM). Knowing that God permeates the entire Universe, I recognise that everything is a spark of divinity. There is only one divine principle in all beings. We are all connected. We are all one. Nothing comes into my experience without my command. The world I know of is only a reflection of my mind. I shall therefore think and perceive only the things that are worthy of me and others. Namaskaram to the Master who is there to guide my path towards unconditional love, spiritual wisdom and bliss."

Aham Brahmasmi, or "I AM", is the highest realisation of the Self. There is nothing that you are not. The Universe is permeated only by Brahman (undifferentiated energy, that which we call God). Knowing thus, there is nothing and nowhere in the world that we know that is void of divinity.

Although our senses perceive the world consisting of separation, it is only the duality that exists in the mind that makes it appear as so. Only through spiritual wisdom and meditation can one experience the unity that underlies all creation. Since there is only one energy pervading the Universe, everything and everyone is connected. One's experience of reality is merely the reflection of the mind.

Through this prayer, the aspirant reaffirms the Supreme Being that underlies all creation and accepts responsibility for his/her life, knowing that the power lies not with anyone else but within. The aspirant shall therefore only think and perceive with his/her five senses only the lovely things that will bring good to all.

When to recite the Sandhya Maarga Prayer?
The prayer is ideally recited in the morning upon waking from sleep before starting one's daily obligations.

Food Prayer (Recited at each meal)
"Thank you for this food to be consumed by this body to sustain it so that I can carry out Thy (Spirit) work."
