Kwan Yin's Ascension Day 2012

In conjunction with the Kwan Yin's Ascension Day this year, Sandhya Maarga disciples will be conducting a mass meditation to pray for the United States' "Sandy" Hurricane victims.

Disciples from around the world will be gathering as a group on November 2nd, 2012 to begin the meditation session at 0000 (Indian Standard Time). Everyone else is free to join us by meditating in their own home. Intention is a powerful force, so the more people joining the meditation, the stronger the positive intention.

For those who are still not yet familiar with the meditation structure for Sandhya Maarga's mass meditation, they can use the Master's meditation audio recording to guide them through the prayer visualisation process. The audio can be accessed here: Sandhya Maarga Meditation Audio Recording (37-minutes long). Disciples who are already well-versed with the technique can proceed without the audio if they wish.

Note to all Mission preceptors:
After the meditation circle, the finalised topic for the satsangh discussion for this auspicious event is the Master's discourse on "compassion". The transcript has been uploaded here. Please check your e-mails or access our private online group for further instructions on how to organise the meeting for that day.

There will also be groups chanting the Heart Sutra 108 times on that day. The Heart Sutra and the Master's translation and interpretation of it can be found here.

Background Information on Kwan Yin

Kwan Yin is the Goddess and Mother of Compassion and Mercy who is loved and revered throughout Asia. She is the beautiful expression of the Divine Mother.

According to cultural beliefs, the Goddess made a pledge: "Never will I seek, nor receive, private individual salvation, never will I enter into final peace alone, but forever and everywhere will I live and strive for the redemption of every creature throughout the world from the bonds of conditioned existence".

Kwan Yin is associated with the earth, fertility, birth and healing. She has also brought forth the energies of Magnified Healing.  She is the eastern counterpart of Mother Mary. Isis carried the same 'mother energy' in Egyptian, and in Hinduism, Shakti (Vishnu's wife), Pavarti (Shiva's wife) and Sita (Rama's wife).

Her name is often pronounced as "Kwan Shi Yin", which means "She who harkens to the cries of the world". The Goddess is also honoured as a Celestial Bodhisatva and an Ascended Master.
